Drew these up for Four Horsemen Studios www.sourcehorsemen.com
for their Black Raven Kickstarter project. When the stretch goals were being discussed, I blurted out "Bone Wings... Gotta have some bone wings." Everyone smirked a bit, and the bone wings were added as the final stretch goal. I drew the wings that night, and the silhouette was up the next day. The 4H opted to remove the little claws from the upper "fingers," but I left them intact here because I think they break up the shapes a bit. The design is mainly based on bat wings, but I tried to add a few avian influences here and there. Anyway, I was really happy to design these, but I never expected the stretch goal to be met.
So the bone wings stretch goal was set at $175,000 -- later knocked down to $165,000 -- and the goal was reached this past Friday. That means something I designed is going to be sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios and sold as an add-on for their Gothitropolis Raven action figures. The final sculpt will likely be a bit different from this design, as it needs working joints and a way to connect them to the back of the figure. They should turn out fairly close to this design, though. At least, I hope so! There's also more to the story, but I'll save that for my next submission.
